Colonel Bodge is a character in The Adventures of Roger Wilco: The Sarien Encounter comics. He does not appear in the game universe. Roger's boss is dead in the games (as seen as a corpse). He is apparently the head janitor and sanitation engineer on board the Arcada, and Roger Wilco is his apprentice.
Background[]
Colonel Bodge is Roger Wilco's boss and supervisor on the Arcada during the Star Generator Project, and apparently long before that. His goal has always been to become Galactic Waste Commissioner, but his efforts to do so have apparently been constantly stymied by Roger's less than stellar work record.
When the Sariens invaded the Arcada, he was presumed deceased. However, he was actually captured and taken to the Sariens' ship, the Deltaur. Roger managed to rescue him from the Deltaur, but he refused to take any of Roger's advice and even went so far as to punch Roger in the face and blow his cover. Despite this, however, Roger saves him yet again when he helps him escape in a Sarien Shuttle just before the Star Generator explodes and takes the Deltaur with it.
Bodge, however, takes all the credit for the destruction of the Deltaur and is awarded the Distinguished Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, as well as being appointed Galactic Waste Commissioner. Roger only gets the Golden Mop as recognition as being Bodge's assistant.
Behind the scenes[]
Bodge is a huge departure from the story presented in Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter, Space Quest 1: Roger Wilco in the Sarien Encounter (AGI and SCI Remake), and The Space Quest Companion and Official Guide to Roger Wilco's Space Adventures. In the general story Roger Wilco is instead the "Head Janitor and Chief (and only) Sanitation Engineer (second class) on board the Arcada. He escapes alone, and destroys Deltaur alone. There are no other survivors. Further more Roger's boss is one of the dead crew members on the Arcada.
