The existence of the Earnon Galaxy is unclear. In both the original SQ1 and Space Quest I remake (prologue and manual), Earnon is described as being the name of both the galaxy and the system where Xenon is located. Xenon may be implied to exist in the Milky Way galaxy in later sources.

In The Official Guide To Roger Wilco's Space Adventures Roger wonders if he had travelled left one galaxy into another, between Space Quest II and Space Quest III while in escape pod.

Galaxy originates from a Greek word meaning "Milky Way", which makes the term Milky Way galaxy somewhat redundant.
