The form used in ordering the whistle indicates it is free; however, sources close to Roger Wilco inform us that the claim of payment was demanded from him several times in his career, though he managed to get away each time.
Roger still had the whistle when he served aboard the SCS Deepship 86, which he kept in his quarters.
