Pukoid

Genetic mutation, the results of which are referred to as "Pukoid". The mutation stemmed from research by Genetix to produce a creature which could adapt to a particular environment. The contamination was spread by rampant dumping in the G6 quadrant, due to a group referred to as the Sludge Bandits, and it eventually affected StarCon officers, including Captain Raems T. Quirk and Ambassador Beatrice Wankmeister. The cure was discovered by the crew of the SCS Eureka; the captain of that vessel, Roger Wilco, was able to isolate the contamination to the SCS Goliath and eliminate the plague, consequentially causing both the destruction of the Eureka and subsequent death of Captain Quirk.
