From Space Quest Omnipedia
Just felt like sending you a message since I haven't gotten to talk to you in forever. :) Oh, and to vote that you need a better user page. You are our illustrious Administrator, after all. ;) --Jeysie 20:08, 11 Jun 2005 (EDT)

[edit] Better?
Is that better?
[edit] From Jibbles
Worked on SQ6? I wish! Its just the sarcastic sense of humour that got me hooked on SQ in the first place :) I'll definately be sticking around. Thanks for the comments! --Jibbles 22:53, 13 Jul 2005 (EDT)
[edit] KQ Omnipedia Logo
Seeing as you're the admin for the KQ Omnipedia, could you set the logo to the Kqsmall.gif file?

[edit] KQ Upload
Do you know what has happened to the upload feature on the KQ Omnipedia? It only says, "Sorry, uploading is disabled."
Elessar 08:41, March 06, 2006.
Fixed. Sorry for the delay- I upgraded the software to fix a security problem (New version was out, and some people were attacking Sq7.org) , and I must have broken it.
It should be fixed now.
-Colin
Thanks for fixing it, however there is problem with "thumb" picture command working on uploaded files. It causes the pictures to be replaced by an X. It problem doesn't seem to affect any pictures that had previously been set to thumb, only new links to pictures. Baggins 10:36, 7 March 2006 (EST)
I've changed the thumbnailing setting to one that should work better. Re-saving one of the broken pages looks like it fixed it. e1ven
[edit] Vandalism
A person with the I.P. of 209.123.8.145, keeps on removing material from King's Quest main page main page, and King's quest "help" page. I keep on reverting them back to previous versions, but he keeps on changing it. Anyway to prevent him?69.225.7.189 10:35, 9 March 2006 (EST) baggins
- After reviewing it, I've blocked the IP for a month. If the person does it after that, we can block it longer. I'm sorry that I don't see all the things that need doing for the page- There's a lot of revisions to articles, and things can become hidden in the list. I'm always happy to fix anything that needs doing, though. Thanks for letting me know.
He's back, apparently now under 67.15.179.13, and he's vandalized those two sections again in the exact same way...69.225.7.189 23:38, 19 March 2006 (EST) Baggins
[edit] File upload broken again
File upload seems to be broken again over in KQ boards. A fix for it would be appreciated, thanks. :)-Baggins69.225.9.90 13:37, 13 July 2006 (EDT)
[edit] Technical Issues with King's Quest Omnipedia
I've noticed several problems.
Any time I try to make edits it says;
Database error From KQ Omnipedia Jump to: navigation, search A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "SearchMySQL4::update". MySQL returned error "126: Incorrect key file for table './sq7_omnipedia/KQ_searchindex.MYI'; try to repair it (localhost)". Retrieved from "http://www.sq7.org/KQ/index.php/King%27s_Quest_Companion"
Additionally many pages that had apostrophies in the titles or articles now read as for example;
"King’s Quest"
Other articles added  between the number and the faction, for example;
"King's Quest 2½"
Move command doesn't work anymore, instead it just says the pages were moved, and yet the page it was moved to remains blank.
Many photo options aren't working right. Thumb command, or the px resizing do not work, instead glitching up.
For example;

[edit] Vandal Problems
Additionally, not technical related, this vandal article was added and needs to be removed;
http://www.sq7.org/KQ/index.php/Poeshare
Lastly is there anyway that we could possibly switch to the system that Wowwiki uses in that someone has to be registered with an account and signed in before before they can change the articles?
It would make it much easier to prevent vandals and vandal bots I think, and easier to track who is posting.
Also I'm thinking maybe we should start creating templates for article deletion flagging, in order to mark redundent topics, and redirects for deletion.
Also is there any chance I could possible get moderation priviliges since I'm active with the King's Quest Omnipedia?

[edit] Audio
The OGG handler extension has been installed on this wiki. This means that you can now listen to ogg audio files, or watch ogg video clips directly on the article page.
Here's an example:
You might want to adapt Template:Multi-listen item to play the audio in-page now rather than sending people to the file description page.
